PFAS Regulation – What It Means for Us and How We’re Preparing

As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and regulatory compliance, Amphenol Procom is actively preparing for upcoming changes related to PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) regulation, planned to take full effect by the end of 2025.

What is PFAS and why is it being regulated?
PFAS are a group of synthetic chemicals widely used in industrial applications due to their resistance to heat, water, and oil.
However, their persistence in the environment and potential health risks have led to growing global concern.
Regulatory authorities across Europe and globally are moving toward stricter controls, including bans and mandatory reporting, to phase out the use of PFAS in manufacturing and products.

How does this affect Amphenol Procom?
As a manufacturer of high-performance antennas and RF components, some of the materials used in our production processes and components may contain PFAS.
While not all PFAS are currently restricted, the scope of regulation is expanding, and staying ahead of the curve is essential.

What are we doing?
At Amphenol Procom, we are taking a proactive approach:
• Conducting a full PFAS material review across our product portfolio.
• Engaging suppliers to obtain detailed material declarations and traceability.
• Collaborating across Amphenol divisions to align our response and share best practices.
• Ensuring compliance with the evolving EU REACH regulation and other relevant frameworks.
• Preparing documentation and declarations to be fully compliant.

This initiative supports not only legal compliance but also aligns with our broader sustainability goals—particularly in the areas of responsible production and environmental stewardship.

We’ll continue to share updates as the project progresses and will ensure teams are informed of any changes that impact processes, product design, or documentation.
