These antennas are omni-directional and suited for operation on vehicles in harsh environments. Using a quarter wave radiator, they are short and very robust, and offer a wide operating bandwidth. They are d.c. grounded, and intended for installation on conductive surfaces. The 472 is covered by a radome of tough moulded polyurethane.
