Amphenol Procom designs and manufactures antenna for robotic lawn mowing
Robotic lawn mowing relies on accurate RF communications to operate flawlessly and leave lawn’s cut to perfection.
The setup usually consists of a base station or command station, mower, and charging platform. It operates within a defined area using sensory feedback whilst combining multiple RF technologies.
Usually, these RF bands are license free 869MHz or 915MHz and GNSS for location-based services.
Amphenol Procom and Amphenol RF were asked to work on a co-creation with the customer. Amphenol RF delivered a tamper proof quick fix connector system to be part of the cable feed system, attached to the antenna designed and manufactured by Amphenol Procom. The finished product is located in the base station.
Using these products ensured radio communication between the systems and the mower could not be rendered useless or tampered with and thereby making the robotic lawn mowers customised journey reliable resulting in perfectly manicured lawns.
