The risk of explosion associated with the production of oil & gas dictates stringent requirements for the antennas and radio equipment used to reduce the potential for explosion.

When handling oil & gas on oil rigs, refineries, during fueling of aircrafts or vehicles, etc. the risk of explosion should never be underestimated. Therefore, there are strict requirements to all components used for wireless communication in these areas. The harsh environment in which these networks are placed, (i.e. off shore oil/gas rigs) place additional emphasis on the quality and long term reliability of the RF equipment.
